What do you get when you mix long grain rice, slow-cooked pintos and a special mix of spices? The recipe for one happy family! Oh, and we left out the best part. It takes less than 30 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 can (14 oz.) low sodium chicken broth
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 can (15.0 oz.) Bush’s® Slow-Cooked N’ Savory Pinto Beans

Optional Toppings

Chow chow, Hot sauce

Cooking Instructions

    COMBINE

    Combine water, chicken broth and butter in pot.

    ADD

    Add 1 cup of rice and seasonings. Stir to combine.

    • Onion Powder

    • Garlic Powder

    • Parsley Flakes

    • Salt

    • Pepper

    BOIL

    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for 15 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.

      FLUFF

      Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork.

        TIPS

        Two chicken bouillon cubes can be added to two cups of water for the broth. Avoid extra salt since bouillon can be salty.
