Navy Bean Gravy Smothered Pork Chops
A perfect complement to lightly seasoned pork chops, navy beans come together with onion and garlic to make a thick, savory gravy that’s rich in both flavor and nutrition. Serve with cooked asparagus and parmesan cheese to for a simple but delicious dinner.

Ingredients
- Navy Bean Gravy Smothered Pork Chops
- 1 15.5oz can Bush’s® Navy Beans
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- Salt and black pepper
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme
- Cooked asparagus, for serving
- Parmesan, for serving
Cooking Instructions
- 1BLEND
Combine Bush’s® Navy Beans, onion, garlic, soy sauce, 2 tablespoons butter, and 1 teaspoon each salt and pepper in a blender and blend until the mixture is almost smooth.
- 2SIMMER
Pour the mixture into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until it is slightly thickened, 10 to 12 minutes.
- 3COOK
While the bean gravy is cooking, season both sides of the pork chops with 2 teaspoons salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Melt remaining butter in a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan or a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and thyme and cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes per side.
- 4SERVE
Serve the pork chops smothered with Navy Bean Gravy, cooked asparagus and parmesan, as desired.
