Cooking Instructions
- 1SAUTE
CLASSIC HOMESTYLE CHILI: Heat vegetable oil in large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking up pieces with wooden spoon, until browned, 8-10 minutes. Add onion and green pepper and cook until vegetables have softened and onions are translucent, 5-7 minutes.
- 2COOK
Season with 2 tsp salt and 1 tap pepper, add chili powder, and cook, stirring frequently, until the chili powder is slightly toasted, about 30 seconds. Add tomato paste and cook, stirring to coat meat and vegetables, until tomato paste is slightly rusty in color, 1-2 minutes. Add diced tomatoes and chili starter, stir to coat, and bring to gentle simmer over medium-low heat. Cook until diced tomatoes have softened slightly and flavors have melded, 12-15 minutes.
- 3COMBINE
SLOW SIMMERED WHITE CHICKEN CHILI: Combine chili starter with diced green chiles and onion (optional).
- 4STIR
Stir in cooked chicken, seasoned to taste. For vegetarian chili, replace chicken with 1 can your choice Bush’s® Beans.
- 5SIMMER
Cover and simmer 7-10 minutes. Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
- 6ASSEMBLE
Assemble your chili board! Give each chili pot its own place and arrange the spread of toppings around them.
